A 14-year-old girl, who went missing from her home at Mumbai on October 1, was sexually assaulted, murdered and her body dropped after being burnt in Talasari at Palghar district. A 25-year-old was detained by law enforcement.
As stated by the Samta Nagar authorities, the defendant was identified as Ajay Banvashi, 25, a resident of a slum pocket in Kandivali (east). The adolescent was his neighbor. Banvashi runs a little shoe cleaning laundry and lives .
The woman went missing from her house around two pm on October 1. The following day, her dad filed an FIR alleging she was kidnapped. The police checked her cellular telephone’s Call Data Record (CDR) and discovered that she had been connected Ajay Banvashi.
Banvashi denied involvement. But the police discovered that he was using the other telephone. Its telephone data made it crystal clear that he’d made a trip to Talasari that night.
“The suspect was called for questioning a few times but he kept misleading us denied any participation in the crime… During ongoing questioning, he said he murdered her and threw the body in Talasari,” said senior police inspector Raju Kasbe of Samta Nagar police station.
The police alleged the accused had lured the woman to his house and he proposed marriage. When she refused his suggestion, he tried to rape her. When she began screaming, he attacked her with a bottle on her head and strangled her to death with his palms. He packed her body in a sack and took her body to Talasari on his bicycle in the afternoon.
After sunset, he took her body out of the bag and threw down her nullah in a forested area along the street. In addition, he went down the nullah and burnt her body with petrol from his bike. The Talasari authorities found her body the next day and registered with a murder case after the autopsy report came in.
